Our farms and plantations in Ecuador, Mexico, and Brazil are bastions of reliability when it comes to maintaining these high-quality standards. They are fully equipped to meet the burgeoning global demand while steadfastly adhering to the universally understood expectations for superior production quality. Additionally, through our network of trusted suppliers in the region, we have the capability to source a wide variety of popular fruits in both small and large quantities. However, our primary focus remains on the finest selection of Bananas, Avocados, Acai Berries, Mangos, and Pineapples.
Banana
Bananas, often considered the first fruit on Earth, trace their origins to Southeast Asia, thriving in the lush jungles of Malaysia, Indonesia, or the Philippines, where numerous varieties of wild bananas still flourish. Interestingly, the term "banana" is believed to have its roots in the Arabic word for 'finger,' as attributed by Africans.
The international trade of bananas commenced in the late fourteenth century, with the advent of railroads and advancements in refrigerated maritime transport. These developments paved the way for bananas to claim the title of the world's most traded fruit.
Today, bananas are cultivated in over 150 countries, yielding a staggering 105 million tons of fruit annually. While bananas grown for local consumption typically follow traditional, extensive farming practices, dessert bananas, exemplified by the renowned Cavendish variety, hold immense economic significance for many nations in the Global South, contributing to a total production of 43 million tons.
Our bananas are nurtured to perfection within the expansive Ecuadorian farms. The Ecuadorian Banana, highly favored on a global scale and consistently in high demand, is a testament to our commitment to providing top-quality produce year-round. At Avocland, we take pride in our enduring relationships with farmers and suppliers, ensuring that our clients always have access to the finest bananas.

Avocado
Avocados have held a cherished place in the Mexican diet for millennia, with archaeological findings dating back nearly 10,000 years in central Mexico, where our ancestors first foraged and savored wild avocados. The cultivation of avocados is believed to have commenced around 5,000 years ago, with Mesoamerican tribes such as the Inca, Olmec, and Maya cultivating domesticated avocado trees.
Today, Mexico proudly stands as the world's foremost avocado-producing nation, boasting a sprawling production area spanning approximately 415,520 acres, yielding a remarkable 1.52 million metric tons each year. The lion's share of avocados, comprising 86%, flourish in the states of Puebla, Morelos, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Mexico. Regrettably, the state of Michoacán, a prominent avocado-producing region, faces challenges from drug cartels that impose protection fees on avocado producers to safeguard their crops. Remarkably, Mexico not only leads in total avocado production but also excels in yield per acre. The meticulous hand-harvesting process employs poles and baskets.
Over recent years, Mexico has been on an upward trajectory, augmenting both production and exports. This thriving avocado industry fuels the livelihoods of 40,000 permanent jobs and an additional 70,000 seasonal positions.
